All key members of our team have passed the extremely high levels of probity required to operate in Australia, UK and South Africa.

Rob O'Dea, Managing Director

After a consulting stint with Paddy Power (Ireland's leading bookmaker) in 1999, Robert identified a clear gap in the market for integrated wagering systems for Call Centre and Internet bookmaking operations. Robert founded BEToptions in Melbourne in 2000 as the second company in world to offer high performance integrated wagering systems with advanced risk management tools to bookmakers worldwide. Robert has also been involved in serveral succesful Internet startup operations and has extensive experience in the requirements of what a successful internet system requires. Previously Robert worked in newspapers and electronic publishing for 8 years working as Commercial & Technology Manager for The Irish Times Ireland.com and Technology Coordinator at Tribune Company in Chicago.

Stuart Cashen, General Manager

Stuart's role as General Manager follows 35 years in the gaming and wagering industry. Trained in finance and with post graduate study in systems analysis, management and HR he brings extensive experience in the fields of Finance, Audit, QA, Operations and IT. Before resigning from the NZTAB to become an independent consultant Stuart occupied the position of General Manager Technical Services leading IT, Engineering, Computer Operations and Development teams. As an independent consultant Stuart has had extensive experience in managing international projects; working with Governments and TAB's throughout Asia and Australia.

Stephen Paradiso, Sales Director

During a technical career dating back to 1991 with IBM, Stephen entered the gaming industry as an executive for one of the first online gaming technology providers publicly-traded in the United States. He later headed development of an internal sports and race wagering application for a large-scale gaming facility, where he concurrently managed the day-to-day wagering operations. Throughout his career Stephen has held executive positions with three wagering technology providers, managed day-to-day operations in a variety of gaming facilities catering to the North American and Asian markets, and provided services with BEToptions on six continents.

Antony Burrows, Operations Manager

Antony has worked for 10 years in the IT industry in Australia. Working as a consultant and for several companies, Antony has gained experience in numerous roles including programming, project management, sales, and support. Prior to joining BEToptions, Antony was the technical director of Norteal Systems, an IT consultancy in Melbourne. While there, he oversaw and ran the companies software and networking projects as well as managing client accounts. Antony has a bachelor of computer science from the University of Melbourne.

David Grouse, Manager (Europe)

David has 25 years' experience in the sports, gaming and publishing sectors. He has worked in the fields of sales, marketing and business development in UK and Europe, the US and the Far East.

Currently based in BEToptions' European office in Leeds, David has headed up marketing for the daily sports newspaper Racing Post as well as York Racecourse and Victor Chandler International. David has also worked or consulted for Paddy Power, IMG, Sportingbet, Bet365, Stan James, Betbrokers and Pinnacle Sports.

While working in advertising, David managed the creative and strategic advertising account for Coral. He has provided public relations and marketing services to many of the most successful racecourses in the UK.

Marcus Gatt, Technology Manager

After completing a Bachelor of Applied Science at Swinburne University in Melbourne, Marcus worked for two years at Sausage Software, one of Melbourne's leading Internet technology development houses during the early 90's. Marcus was employed as an Analyst Programmer and was the sole developer of their online store as well as developing Internet and Intranet applications using a variety of technologies. Marcus joined BEToptions as Technology Manager in early 2003..

Andre Gulbis, New Media Manager

Andre has studied both Graphic and Industrial Design, and has been working in creative fields for over 10 years. For the last five of these he ran a successful design business specialising in cutting-edge multimedia, user interface design and rich-media integration. Andre joined BEToptions as New Media Manager in late 2004 and will lead the development of new channels for WAGERplayer including retail, wireless and interactive TV.

CS Tan, Service Manager

A graduate of Monash University, CS specialised in customer service before joining the BEToptions team. He brings an extensive experience in POS customer service and an indepth knowledge of the internet to his position.

Sarah McGillivray, Office Manager

Sarah completed both a Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Tourism at Monash University. Since graduating she has worked in accounting/administrative positions in London and Sydney.

Lindsey Smith, System Architect

Lindsey was lured away from a university degree at the University of Queensland to join BEToptions as a staff programmer. He has since moved on to become a Systems Analyst and is deeply involved in BEToptions' core technology group, as well as new channels such as retail. Lindsey is also an avid computer gamer and technophile.
